What are Lightroom presets?
A Lightroom preset is a filter with predetermined settings and can quickly get you closer to the effect you want. It helps in post processing or editing your photos, saves time & energy and most importantly allows us to achieve certain hard to achieve looks.
Remember, Lightroom presets are not a magic wand. Sometimes you may be able to achieve a result right from the start, and other times you may not. What it can do, however, is get you very close to the desired effect very quickly, and then you can tweak it to your liking.
Lightroom Mobile presets (.DNG) vs. Lightroom Desktop presets (.XMP)?
Lightroom Mobile Presets are images that come with pre-determined settings. The free presets that you download from the links below will be in both .DNG and .XMP format. To use them on your mobile phone, you'll need to copy the settings from the .DNG files and paste them into the photos you want to edit in the Lightroom mobile app.
While Lightroom Desktop presets are not images, these are files and are in .XMP format exported by Adobe Lightroom Classic. Mobile presets are created in Lightroom Classic and exported in .DNG format so we can use them in Lightroom Mobile.

Regardless of whether they are mobile or desktop presets, they both work the same, but the only difference is that you need DNG files to use them on a mobile device, while Lightroom CC and Classic support the .XMP format. You also need a Creative Cloud subscription to use the presets on your computer, but no subscription is required when using the presets in the free Lightroom Mobile app.
How to install Lightroom presets on your computer
Open the Lightroom Classic app and navigate to the Invoke module. Make sure you have imported a photo into the Lightroom module.

In the left panel, click the (+) icon in the Preferences panel.
Select Import from the drop-down menu.
Locate the preset ZIP file or .xmp file and import the presets.
Done, you should see all the preferences in the Preferences panel.
How to install presets in Lightroom Mobile
Download the .zip file with the mobile presets to your iPhone/Apple device and press on the zip file to expand it. You can also use the iZip program to unzip zip files.
Load all your presets into the new album. To add them, open the album, then press the Add (+) button and select "From Files" >> Navigate to the .dng files and load them.
Open all the .DNG files and click on the three dots in the top right corner >> select Create Preset.
Give the preset a name and save it.
Open any photo you wanted to edit.

Now browse the presets you have installed and apply them to your photos.
